The Team

Michael boasts a Swiss Federal Master Watchmaker Diploma and more than three decades of watch industry experience. Having worked for brands like Audemars Piguet (16 years), IWC, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Maurice La Croix, Carl F. Bucherer and Parmigiani, he specialises in high complications, such as perpetual calendars, tourbillons and minute repeaters, and the restoration of vintage timepieces. His watch industry experience ranges from the conception of ideas to product definition & development (at Vaucher Manufacture), prototyping & manufacturing (at APRP Le Locle), sales & after-sales service (at Bucherer), training of watchmakers & retail staff and conducting Masterclasses for various maisons.

Now also an accredited trainer with the Fondation de la Haute Horologerie, Michael leads IHT's masterclasses, professional training and servicing & restoration work. A highly skilled artisan, his passion is to share his expertise to advance watchmaking appreciation in Singapore and beyond.

Phyllis trained as a Chartered Accountant in London. On her return to Singapore, she worked as a corporate banker with OCBC before joining Price Waterhouse as a corporate tax consultant. Her tenure with PwC Singapore included a 2-year stint in Cambodia to help establish its tax department in Phnom Penh. For 17 years, Phyllis dedicated her skills to home management and home-educating two sons. Her passion is to mentor and empower the next generation.

At IHT, Phyllis brings this perspective to watchmaking, designing masterclasses, team experiences and social impact initiatives that make the art of horology accessible while empowering individuals through craftsmanship and lifelong learning.

Nicholas, son of IHT founders Michael and Phyllis Dubs, leads IHT’s IT and digital support whilst pursuing a diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering. A product of a decade-long homeschooling journey, he applies his hands-on, problem-solving mindset to maintaining IHT’s digital infrastructure, bridging traditional watchmaking with modern technology.

Benjamin is the youngest member of the Dubs-Lye family. Homeschooled alongside his brother, he developed creativity, independence and a self-directed approach to learning. As a budding photographer and videographer, he contributes to IHT’s growing social media presence by capturing IHT’s journey through visual storytelling. Follow him at @ben_dibzzz.
