Carl Suchy & Söhne

Carl Suchy & Söhne is an Austrian luxury watch brand, originally founded in 1822, renowned for its refined design and exceptional craftsmanship. Revived in 2017, the brand combines traditional Viennese elegance with modern Swiss precision.
In 2016, Robert Punkenhofer, an authoritative figure in the worlds of art, design and architecture and a former Austrian Trade Commissioner, revived this then dormant brand with the help of Michael's long-time friend from watchmaker school, independent watchmaker Marc Jenni.
Carl Suchy & Söhnn was a family buisiness founded by its namesake in 1822. It quickly becoming the sole watch supplier to the Habsburg Monarchy or the Austrian-Hungarian Empire, counting among its patrons Emperor Franz Joseph I and Empress Sisi. Another well-known patron before the business went bankcrupt in the 1960s was the founder of pyscho-analysis, Sigmund Freud, for whom the brand produced a custom-made pocket featuring a unique mechanism that allowed him to time his psychoanalytic sessions with his patients. This piece can still be seen at the Sigmund Freud Museum in Vienna, Austria.
Today, Carl Suchy & Söhnn takes pride in handcrafting timepieces in Austria that meet the high quality standards of Swiss watchmaking, with the brand's watches sporting ultra-thin automatioc movements from Switzerland whilst expressing the minimalist elegance of the Viennese waltz.
