Build Your Own Mechanical Watch

Embark on a journey into watchmaking with IHT's Build Your Own IHT Watch Masterclass. This Masterclass offers a unique opportunity to assemble and personalize your very own manual winding mechanical timepiece under the expert guidance of Swiss Master Watchmaker Michael Dubs. Discover the essence of Swiss high-end watchmaking as you explore traditional decoration techniques, gain insights into technical watchmaking theory, and apply artisanal finishings to selected movement components. Install the dial and hands, complete the casing up process and test your watch's accuracy on a timegrapher and its water resistance using professional watchmaking equipment. Attach the straps and you have built your very own IHT watch!

The Practicum

Gain an understanding of Swiss high-end watchmaking by learning about various decorative techniques used in haute horology. Apply a couple of these artisanal finishing methods to selected components of your movement, making your timepiece uniquely yours. Master the precise setting of the dial and hands for perfect alignment and functionality, then complete the experience by casing up your watch and ensuring it meets basic industry standards for timing accuracy and water resistance. Further personalize your watch by upgrading to a dial with a component that can be engraved with your name or a design of your choice.
